"Friendly" Fire?

The Senate Judiciary Committee is planning on opening an investigation into the events surrounding President Donald Trump’s firing of former FBI Director James Comey, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

The investigation could potentially examine whether the president interfered in the ongoing Russia investigation by moving to fire Comey.

“The Judiciary Committee has an obligation to fully investigate any alleged improper partisan interference in law enforcement investigations,” Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a letter announcing the move.

“It is my view that fully investigating the facts, circumstances, and rationale for Mr. Comey’s removal will provide us the opportunity to do that on a cooperative, bipartisan basis,” Grassley continued. “The American people deserve a full accounting of attempts to meddle in both our democratic processes and the impartial administration of justice."

The letter was a response to Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., the senior Democrat on the Judiciary Committee. Feinstein had asked for the committee to complete its own investigation in addition to ones currently ongoing.

The Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over the FBI and federal law enforcement.

The move follows testimony Comey gave on June 8 to the Senate Intelligence Committee in which he said he thought he was fired because of the Russia probe. “I was fired in some way to change, or the endeavor was to change, the way the Russia investigation was being conducted,” Comey testified. “That is a very big deal, and not just because it involves me.”

A White House spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to a comment request from the Journal.

Where was this committee during the Obama Administration? You might think they'd want to investigate Loretta Lynch interfering with Comey's investigation of Hilliary Clinton. With republicans like this, who needs democrats?

Comey, and his deputy, both recently testified that no one had attempted to interfere in any investigation. Where’s the investigation into Comey’s perjury? Comey on June 8 testified that he deliberately leaked confidential federal records to ensure the appointment of a special counsel. Where’s the investigation into his leak and his attempt to manipulate justice? Comey cleared Clinton of obvious crimes, exceeding his authority and obstructing justice. Where is the investigation? Rather than facing justice, it seems the corporate media are about to give him a ten million dollar book deal.

Comey, Lynch, Jarrett, Holder, Lerner and other corrupt creatures of the deep state are apparently above reproach, while the president they have found nothing on is on trial. That is how diseased this bureaucracy has become. The U. S. Has become a truly Byzantine state.

It’s not Republicans vs Democrats, it’s the Establishment vs All Comers. RvD is merely a side show put on to marginalize & distract large groups of voters, then if possible simply “turn-off” the rest. It’s a strong game, it’s why 3rd parties still struggle for recognition even though a majority of the electorate is not satisfied with the politics & performance of either party & that trend has been pretty steady since the 90’s (& probably long before) with spikes for short periods due to high Presidential approval: Desert Storm, 1st Term Bill, Post 9/11 Bush, Day One Obama.

Republicans and Democrats are two sleeves of the same deep state shirt. The rank and file may have earnest and honest desires but to become a member of the leadership circle requires deep state approval.

Frustrated voters may eventually form or support a 3rd party to challenge the status quo but will their candidates fair any better than the Tea party or Trump vs the deep state?
